Let the journey begin - Brussels(BE) / Doha (QR)

Time to leave

Packed my stuff only this morning.  

The 13 kgs backpack and 3 kgs handluggage will help me through the next 24 days in Far Asia.  Check-in was very quick … getting through security was very boring, waiting for the airplane to open its doors even more boring.  

But in 6 hours I’ll land in Doha (capital of Qatar) … where the 9 hours waiting for my connection flight to Jakarta (Indonesia) are expected to be the most boring hours in my life :P.  And boring it is !  Though I shopped a little bit in the massive duty free at Doha airport and explored the complete departure terminal ... 4 smoking areas, 41 gates, 5 coffee bars, 2 Mosques and ... this 'Notebook Charger' Area and free WIFI-zone ... to upload my first post off course ! 4 hours of the 9 hours waiting still to fill with watching movies / series / walk around and stretch the legs, ....  Then up to my next flight to Jakarta ... first one was amazing!  I had 3 seats for myself ... a interactive entertainment system with lots of movies, series, games, ... and 2 very good meals!  I look forward to the next flight (duration 9 hours pffff).   Nevertheless I’m very excited about everything I’ll see in this beautiful Asian country.  Tomorrow I’ll land in Jakarta at about 10 PM where a taxi driver will be waiting for me to bring me to the hotel.  On Sunday morning I have my next national flight from Jakarta to Banda Aceh … where I have to take the ferry (guess it will be just a humble boat) to Pulau Weh.  Another short trip will bring me to paradise (according to Tom’s stories …).  Hope to have the opportunity to further inform you about my wellbeing in paradise Sunday evening.
